Welcome to the starting point of our journey to Antarctica. Ushuaia is the southernmost city on the planet, located at the foot of the Andes on the shores of the picturesque Beagle Channel. We’ll spend the night in the hotel.
In the afternoon, we’ll embark on the Sea Spirit expedition ship and head out to sea through the scenic Beagle Channel. The next land we step on will already be Antarctica!
It's time to get acquainted with the Sea Spirit because it will be our home for the next 10 days. You can fully enjoy its comfort and facilities.
In a company of like-minded people you can share impressions and inspire each other to new discoveries on this incredible journey.
Let's explore the fantastic world of the uncharted continent. Upon reaching Antarctica, we'll take every opportunity for shore landings. However, all our activities depend on weather and ice conditions. Please note that this is a tentative schedule that can be changed. The locations mentioned below are the places we plan to visit in favorable conditions.
In Neko Harbour, you’ll witness massive icebergs breaking off from the Antarctic ice shelves and crashing into the sea. Explore Paradise Bay, a place that amazes with icebergs of intricate shapes and colors. The waters of the bay are often visited by large whales, so keep you cameras at hand.
On Cuverville Island, you'll meet penguins. According to the rules, travelers should not approach penguins within a distance of less than 5 meters. But these charming local inhabitants often chase Antarctic visitors themselves, trying to climb on the boots or into the bag left on the shore! :)
The majestic cliffs of Booth Island and Cape Renard stand at the entrance to one of the most beautiful passages in Antarctica and the whole Earth — Lemaire Channel, nicknamed "Kodak Gap". According to the calculations of polar explorers, in the "pre-digital" era, up to 600 kilometers of photographic film were used here every year!
Brace yourself for the salty spray on your face during excursions on Zodiac boats — we plan to admire huge static icebergs in Pleneau Bay. Whales right by the side of your expedition boat, leopard seals resting on ice floes — we often encounter these Antarctic inhabitants in the Gerlache Strait.
Ready for some Antarctic swimming? The penguins of Deception Island are probably already accustomed to the "crazy" travelers who joyfully swim in the coastal waters. Volcanic activity heats the water along the coast, which than mixes with the flows of cold water.
Today, we’ll leave Antarctica and head back north, crossing the waters of the Drake Passage toward civilization.
On the way back you'll have time to recall the brightest moments of the last few days, share you impressions and let this corner of the planet hold a special place in your heart.
After breakfast, it's time to bid farewell to the Sea Spirit vessel. We’ll return to Ushuaia. However, harsh, wild, and magnificent beauty of Antarctica has surely given you a revelation that will make you see ordinary things of life in a new light. Transfer to the airport and fly home.
Final price depends on the type of accommodation. See the details in the “Accommodation” section.
The journey begins in Ushuaia, Argentina, where you should get on your own. The group will meet at Ushuaia Airport (USH). Group transfer to the hotel on the first day of the tour is included in the price. The details will be provided later.
