Our route starts in Murmansk. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to a hotel in the city center. Today, you can take a leisurely walk in the world's largest city located beyond the Arctic Circle. Here, you'll get your first acquaintance with the northern nature, local culture, and the glorious history of Arctic exploration!
In the afternoon, we'll board the most powerful nuclear icebreaker in the world, worth over 2 billion dollars — 50 Years of Victory. Its mission is to escort research and cargo vessels in the Arctic along the Northern Sea Route in the harsh winter. At the same time, it is excellently equipped for passenger cruises. So, in winter, it serves as a working icebreaker, and in summer, it transforms into an Arctic cruise ship that can take you on a voyage to the northernmost point of the planet. We'll leave the harbor of Murmansk and set off towards polar adventures!
The journey to the top of the world will be as exciting as you can imagine! Professional polar experts and guides will tell you the most interesting facts about the Arctic. From the open decks, you will observe how the mighty icebreaker carves its way through thick ice. And, of course, don't miss the opportunity to visit the captain's bridge!
When the weather is suitable, we will set off to exciting Arctic excursions on Zodiac boats and, of course, landing on the ice. Here, you can literally touch the Arctic, walk on ice floes, and if you're lucky, see the inhabitants of this severe nature: polar bears, walruses, and Arctic birds.
You'll also have the opportunity to take a helicopter flight above the vast Arctic expanses and capture unique photos of the ship from the height.
Our ship keeps working its way through the Arctic ice. We immerse ourselves in the stern yet remarkably fragile Arctic nature, brace ourselves for what could be the most memorable adventure of our lives.
We are finally at 90° of nothern latitude. Upon reaching it, the icebreaker will stop at the top of our planet!
Do you remember the riddle? What is the location of the house with all its windows facing south, and polar bears looking in them? You're at that very spot. There are no houses here, of course, but you can easily complete the shortest trip around the Earth by circling around the symbolic North Pole point.
This day will be etched in your memory. You'll enjoy taking photos on ice floes, have a polar barbecue, dance, and experience indescribable emotions! If desired, you can ascend above the North Pole in a hot air balloon (for an additional fee, ask in advance). And the boldest adventurers can even swim in the waters of the Arctic Ocean.
In the next few days, the icebreaker will sail along the Franz Josef Land archipelago, where you'll explore one of the most remote regions of the Arctic.
In these amazing lands, you'll visit the remnants of camps left by the first Arctic explorers and follow the footsteps of famous adventurers like Cook, Peary, Amundsen, and Sedov.
Cruising around the Franz Josef Land archipelago on the icebreaker, you'll witness majestic glaciers, watch walrus rookeries and bustling bird colonies, and, if you're lucky, see polar bears.
Through the northern waters, the 50 Years of Victory icebreaker sets course for Murmansk. One of the days the crew will organize a final photo presentation with the most impressive moments of the journey!
On the way to our final destination, there's another small surprise waiting for you: a dinner with the captain!
It's done! You have become a part of the exclusive circle of explorers who have conquered the North Pole.
