We meet in the afternoon: you can join at Yerevan Airport or meet us in the city (see “Place & Time of the Group Meeting” section for details). After introductions, we head to Dilijan — the drive takes about two hours.
Our route passes by Lake Sevan, often called “the sea” in Armenia. On its high shore rises Sevanavank Monastery, founded in the 9th century. If time permits, we’ll stop to see the ancient churches, khachkars (cross-stones), and old monastic cells.
Then we’ll ascend the Dilijan Pass with its wide panoramas: alpine meadows, the valley of the Aghstev River, and dense forests that make this region so lush. By evening we’ll arrive in Dilijan, settle into the hotel, have dinner, and rest before the start of our adventure.
In the morning, we begin our first hike. From Dilijan, we follow marked trails to Haghartsin Monastery. The route leads through groves of beech and yew, with views opening onto the valley and the rocky peak of Dimats, which we’ll visit later in the trip.
The monastic complex preserves ancient builings and tombs of the Bagratuni dynasty. After the walk, we return to the hotel.
In the evening — dinner with Armenian cuisine and friendly talks by the campfire.
Elevation gain – 600 m
Today’s route is longer and more varied. We climb above the forest line and walk across open mountain slopes, with views of flowering meadows and surrounding peaks. On one of the glades we’ll pause for a short rest.
Later we descend to reach Goshavank Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here you’ll find finely carved khachkars, old chapels, and the ruins of the wooden church of Surb Karapet.
Elevation gain – 900 m
This day is dedicated to Lake Sevan, the largest in the Caucasus. We’ll choose a secluded spot on the shore for a picnic with barbecue and fresh vegetables. Weather permitting, you can swim in the clear waters.
After the rest, we’ll return to Dilijan. You’ll have free time to explore the town, visit a museum or gallery, stroll through the crafts street, or join a workshop.
In the morning we set off by jeep to the trailhead for our trek to the top of Mount Dimats (2 378 m). First, we’ll reach a scenic viewpoint, then hike higher to take in sweeping views of mountain ridges and vast meadows. Here we’ll stop for a snack and photos.
The trail then follows the ridge toward the village of Hovk, where livestock graze in the pastures. By evening we return to the hotel.
Elevation gain: 400 m, descent: 1 400 m
Today we head to the north of the country. The landscapes of Lori differ from those around Dilijan: here you’ll find basalt plateaus and cliffs shaped into hexagonal columns.
We’ll hike the paths connecting the UNESCO World Heritage monasteries of Sanahin and Haghpat. Along the way we’ll pass through villages, see orchards, and stop for lunch in a gazebo with views of the valley.
In the evening, return to Dilijan for dinner and a wrap-up of our journey.
Elevation change: 400 m
After breakfast, we pack up and transfer back to the capital. We’ll arrive at the airport around noon.
If you have time before your flight, you can visit the History Museum of Armenia or stroll along the Cascade – the famous open-air architectural complex.
Special prices are valid until 05.11.2025!

We will be traveling in a comfortable minibus. Roads in Armenia are generally in good condition. On Day 6 we will drive along a mountain serpentine road. If you are sensitive to such roads, we recommend bringing motion sickness remedies (consult your doctor beforehand).
We will spend 6 nights in a hotel in Dilijan, in double rooms with private facilities. The hotel has a swimming pool (included in the price) and a sauna (extra fee).
Note: The price of the trip is based on double accommodation. If you are traveling alone, we will try to find a roommate for you from the tourists of our group, but we cannot guarantee this. Usually there is a roommate, but if there is not, you will need to pay extra for single accommodation.
If you need a single room and don't want to stay with anybody, specify this in the comments to your application.

The route does not require special training, but participants must be in good physical condition and have no medical restrictions for intensive activity. We will walk a lot in gorges and mountains, with long ascents and descents. The trip is not recommended for those with serious knee or ankle problems.
Be prepared to walk 5–18 km per day in mountainous terrain with elevation gain, as well as for sudden changes in weather.
Children are allowed to participate from the age of 12 and only if accompanied by their parents.
The checklist #67 will help you prepare for this trip.
Note: You will need well-broken-in trekking boots with sturdy soles. Trekking poles are highly recommended, as they are very helpful on ascents and descents.
The official currency in Armenia is the dram.
You can bring any currency with you. Upon arrival, we will exchange it for drams.
The program includes all breakfasts, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner. All other meals are at your own expense in cafés or restaurants. During treks, we will take snacks with us and arrange outdoor picnics (each participant buys food in local shops).
Note: Since this is a group tour, the food is the same for all participants. Unfortunately, we cannot prepare an individual meal for you. If you have an intolerance or allergy to any of the products, please notify the manager in advance. We will pass this information on to the guide or accommodations. However, we kindly ask you to follow up on this matter during the trip. If you have strict dietary restrictions, we recommend bringing suitable food with you or buy it on the spot.
Amid the green mountain slopes of Armenia lies the town of Dilijan – a quiet corner where traditional architecture coexists with pristine nature. The town is surrounded by forests and the towering peaks of the Caucasus, and its atmosphere is filled with peace and harmony. A whole week here will give us the chance to discover a different side of Armenia.
We’ll stay in a cozy hotel: hearty breakfasts in the morning, light treks and excursions during the day, and relaxed evenings in a small mountain town. The routes are designed so that we can walk through forest paths, enjoy panoramic views from the heights, and pause for rest right in the heart of nature.
