Our journey begins at Shanghai’s Pudong International Airport (PVG). After meeting as a group, we head to the train station. A 2.5-hour ride on a high-speed train takes us to Shangrao, followed by another hour to the picturesque Wangxiang Valley.
This stunning viillage features cliffs that glow with evening lights, creating a magical landscape. We’ll end the day with a leisurely walk and enjoy local dishes and street food.
After a restful night, we’ll visit Huangling Village, one of the most beautiful in China. Surrounded by terraced fields and Huizhou-style houses with white walls and pointed roofs, it feels like stepping back in time.
Following a traditional village lunch, we’ll journey to the Yellow Mountains.
The Yellow Mountains have inspired poets and artists for centuries. Now modern infrastructure like cable cars and funiculars makes them more accessible, but hiking the trails still demands stamina.
As we ascend through pine forests, we’ll be rewarded with views of cliffs and rugged peaks. With luck, we may witness the mesmerizing sight of mist lifting over the mountains at dawn.
Today, a cable car will take us to the sacred Mount Qiyun, a significant Taoist site. Ancient temples, secluded pavilions, and breathtaking views await us at the summit.
After that, we’ll travel east to Hangzhou.
Hangzhou, described by Marco Polo as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, greets us with morning views of West Lake. We’ll visit Leifeng Pagoda, take a boat ride to the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, and explore the serene Temple of the Soul’s Retreat.
In the afternoon, we’ll delve into China’s tea culture, trying freshly brewed tea and even participating in tea leaf picking. In the evening, those who wish can attend the unique show Impression West Lake, staged by the living classic of Chinese cinema Zhang Yimou.
In the morning, we’ll head to Wuzhen, an ancient water town known as the “Venice of China.” We’ll cruise its narrow canals, cross charming bridges, and visit workshops and shops.
In the evening, back in Shanghai, we’ll explore the romantic French Concession, with its European-style architecture and tree-lined streets.
Today is dedicated to exploring Shanghai, China’s most modern and dynamic city. We’ll begin at the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center, where a city model offers a fascinating overview. Later a stroll along shopping Nanjing Street will lead us to the Bund, with its historic European-style buildings.
Crossing the river by ferry, we’ll arrive in Pudong, home to Shanghai’s iconic skyscrapers. We’ll ascend the Shanghai Tower for stunning views from 561 meters above the city.
