We’ll meet at the hotel in Yerevan and start our first sightseeing tour. Let's have a bite before walking and try the national dish “Zhingyalov hats”, a type of flatbread stuffed with finely diced herbs. Then we’ll drink tan with fresh mint – it’s a traditional Armenian savory beverage. We’ll admire the buildings made of pink tuff, walk along Northern Avenue with modern skyscrapers, see the the Theater of Opera and Ballet in the evening illumination and the famous Cascade, and then enjoy the sunset over the top of Ararat. At the end of such a busy day, we will have dinner at the restaurant.

We will drive through the picturesque Ararat valley, admiring the flowering gardens and vineyards, and soon we will reach the Khor Virap monastery, which means “the deep dungeon” in translation. We’ll learn its history: earlier there was a prison where Saint Gregory was imprisoned, and much later a chapel and a church were built. In the evening we will get acquainted with the art of winemaking in Armenia – we’ll visit the winery in the village of Areni and appreciate the bouquet of flavors of local wines. The archaeological finds in Areni cave have proven that wine has been produced here for more than 6 thousand years!
Finally, we will reach the city of Vayk, where we will stay at the hotel.
It's time to hit the road again: we will overcome the magnificent Selim Pass — the highest in Armenia! In ancient times, it was a part of the Great Silk Road, and a caravanserai has been preserved here since then.
Then we’ll reach the shores of the azure Lake Sevan. It is so huge that the locals call it the sea. Those who wish can taste the famous Sevan trout, which is traditionally served with herbs and walnut sauce.
Then we’ll move to the village of Noratus to see the "forest of khachkars" – cross stones from different eras located on the territory of a medieval cemetery.
We will finish the excursion day with a visit to the Sevanavank Monastery, which is located on the top of a hill with a magnificent view of the turquoise waters of Sevan.

We continue our journey through Armenia. We’ll immerse ourselves in the fascinating history of Haghpat monastery. Monks lived here in the middle of the last millennium.
