The group gathers at Manas Airport (details are in the “Place & TIme of the Group Meeting” section). After check-in at the hotel and some rest, we’ll go exploring Bishkek.
We’ll visit Ala-Too Square, stroll through the shady alleys of Oak Park founded by locals in the early 20th century, and admire the elegant architecture of the Opera and Ballet Theater. The day will end with dinner at a restaurant featuring national dishes.
In the early morning, we leave Bishkek and travel through the picturesque Chuy Valley to the Too-Ashu Pass. After descending the winding serpentine roads, we’ll enter the cool Susamyr Valley, famous for its scenic pastures, fast rivers, and herds of free-roaming horses. This region is also known for its kumis, one of the best in the country.
Next, we will head to Chychkan Gorge, where tall spruces, dense juniper bushes, and wild raspberries and blackberries grow along the mountain river.
We will spend the night in a guesthouse by the river, enjoying the sound of the water and the fresh mountain air.
On the third day, we travel along one of Kyrgyzstan’s most scenic roads, following the Naryn River—the country’s largest. The majestic views will culminate at Toktogul Reservoir, the largest in the region.
In the evening, we’ll arrive in the small village of Arkit, where we’ll stay at a guesthouse.
In the morning, we’ll trek through walnut and fruit forests to reach the Sary-Chelek Lake, hidden among the Chatkal ridges. This lake is famous for its crystal-clear blue water and shores covered in dense pine forests.
We’ll leave Arkit in the morning and head to Arslanbob, an oasis at 1,600 meters above sea level. Known for its walnut and fruit forests, this area is home to some of the world’s oldest and largest walnut groves. According to legend, Alexander the Great brought these walnuts to Europe. We’ll also visit Arslanbob’s famous waterfall and, if time permits, go to a viewpoint overlooking the valley.
We will spend the night in a guesthouse hosted by friendly locals.
Today, we’ll visit Uzgen, a city with centuries of history. Highlights include the 11th-century minaret and the mausoleums of the Karakhanids, featuring intricate stone carvings. The minaret, with its 11 decorative rows, is particularly impressive.
We’ll also explore the local bazaar to experience the vibrant atmosphere of eastern trade and taste Uzgen’s renowned pilaf at a teahouse.
In the evening, we’ll arrive in Osh, the ancient city known as the southern capital of Kyrgyzstan.
In the morning, we’ll visit Suleiman-Too Mountain, steeped in myths and legends. It is believed that here you can see traces of the Prophet Solomon, and the mountain’s name translates to “Solomon’s Throne.” The mountain is a place of pilgrimage, and its slopes are adorned with ancient petroglyphs. It is said that Sulayman-Too has healing and magical properties, granting wishes to the faithful.
We will also take a walk through the old neighborhood, visit the main square of the city, and end the day with a dinner at a restaurant offering national cuisine.
Early in the morning, we’ll organize a transfer to Osh Airport. If your flight is later, you can continue exploring the city on your own.
We recommend visiting the National Historical and Archaeological Museum Complex on Sulayman-Too, which wasn’t included in the main program. Art lovers may want to check out the T. Sadykov Museum of Fine Arts. Don’t miss the eastern bazaars, where you can buy dried fruits, nuts, and other local delicacies. If time allows, you can visit the Kyrgyz Ata Nature Park, where you can see ancient caves, grottos, and historical monuments.
