You will meet at the airport of Osh (see the details in the "Place and time of the meeting" section) and go to the base camp that is situated under Lenin Peak at an altitude of 3,600 m. The journey will take about 5 hours, but the road won’t be boring — you will enjoy impressive views of the Pamirs along the way. The camp with the poetic name Edelweiss Glade is located in a picturesque place among alpine meadows and sparkling glaciers. You will be accommodated in comfortable heated tents, have some rest, and then go for the first walk — to the Lukovaya meadow, which will amaze you with a lot of bright fragrant flowers.
Today you’ll have the first acclimatization hike to the Travelers Pass. You’ll walk pass the Lukovaya meadow, a picturesque canyon and the waterfall hiding between the rocks. The whole way will take about 2.5 hours and will go along a comfortable, well-trodden path. From the height of the Travelers Pass — 4,150 meters — you can admire the snow-white peaks of XIX Party Congress (5,920 m), Spartak (6,183 m) and, of course, the legendary Lenin Peak (7,134 m).
In a few hours you’ll return to the base camp.
Today you’ll have an acclimatization hike to the crest of Petrovsky Peak. You’ll go up to a height of 4,150 m, which offers majestic views of the Alai Valley, the pearls of lakes scattered between the ridges, and the majestic Lenin Peak in all its glory.
You’ll return to the base camp to have a good rest — you should get ready for a long transition to the next camp that happens tomorrow.
In the morning you’ll leave the Edelweiss Glade and head towards the Solnechny camp at an altitude of 4,400 m. Unnecessary things can be left in the storage room. If you are not ready to carry a backpack on your own, for an extra fee your things can be transported on horseback.
Having overcome the Travelers Pass, you will get to a flat area adjacent to the moraine. You’ll cross the river and continue up the glacier to the moraine, where the camp is located. You will spend two nights in permanent tents surrounded by glaciers.
Today you’ll stay in the camp and learn the techniques of moving on the glacier, climbing and descending on a fixed rope, overcoming cracks and self-rescue. Then you’ll pack your things and prepare the equipment for tomorrow’s route.
Today you’ll move to the next camp at an altitude of 5,300 m. You’ll wake up early to get on the road before sunrise: the sunshine can be very exhausting during the transitions.
You’ll have to use crampons and ropes, so you’ll need all the knowledge that you received yesterday. First, you will overcome the Lenin Glacier, and from the Northern Wall you’ll start a steep ascent to the so-called “skovorodka” (“frying pan”) — a snow-covered flat area. There is an increased risk of avalanche here, so you’ll have to pass this area quickly.
From here you’ll ascend to the Camp 2. You’ll rope up, because there are many cracks in this part of the route. Upon arrival, you’ll rest and have lunch. In high-altitude camps you will cook food yourselves with the products that you’ll receive in the base camp.
Under the strict supervision of the instructor you’ll get onto the route using crampons and ropes. First, you’ll climb a rocky crest and walk along it to the next one leading to the top of Razdelnaya Peak. After that you’ll need to overcome the remaining, rather challenging part of the way to the camp. In the Camp 3 (6,100 m) the tents will already be set up for you.
In the next two days you’ll have to descend to the very starting point — this is a mandatory part of adaptation in order to conquer the seven-thousander without the use of oxygen. After breakfast you’ll make the transition to the Camp 2, and then get to the Solnechny Camp. You’ll settle in permanent tents and have a rest.
Your goal for today is the Edelweiss Glade base camp, where you will spend two days to let your body recover. In the morning you’ll leave Solnechny camp, cross the Pass of Travelers and go down to the familiar yellow tents. On the way, you’ll enjoy the majestic panoramas of colored mountains and the Land’s End canyon.
Dedicate this day to rest and relaxation surrounded by beautiful mountain landscapes and flowering meadows, visit the sauna, enjoy the warm weather and communicate with other travelers. Delicious homemade food and fresh fruits will help you recover faster.
To stay in shape, we recommend taking a light walk to the Achik-Tash valley with many picturesque mountain lakes. The sacred Tulpar-Kol Lake surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains and colorful slopes is considered one of the most beautiful. You will see majestic views as if you were on another planet.
One more day at the camp. It can also be used as a backup day if the group falls behind schedule due to weather. Your safety is our priority!
In the evening it’s time to make some preparations for tomorrow’s route.
In the morning you’ll have to overcome the Travelers Pass once more to reach the Solnechny camp (4,400 m). This time, the climb will feel easier, as the body has already adapted to the height. You’ll spend the night in comfortable permanent tents. Backpacks can be transported on horseback for an additional fee.
You’ll start the day before sunrise to avoid a long hike in the sun. With the use of crampons and ropes you will ascend to the Camp 2 (5,300 m). Upon arrival you’ll prepare lunch and have a rest.
Under the strict supervision of the instructor you’ll get onto the route using crampons and ropes. First, you’ll go up a rocky crest, then climb towards the top of Razdelnaya Peak and continue the way to the Camp 3 (6,100 m). Tomorrow you are finally going to conquer Lenin Peak, so today it’s important to go to sleep early.
You will wake up around 3 am, pack up the necessary things and get started. You’ll traverse to the saddle, where you’ll have to be especially careful, as there are many hidden cracks in this area. You’ll climb to the crest plateau, where an intermediate camp might be set up.
Climbing up a steep ice slope, you will pass along the rocks and come out to the Paratroopers plateau at an altitude of about 7,000 meters. Walking through the plateau is only possible in good visibility conditions and with a GPS navigator: it is easy to get lost here.
The final steps to overcome the snow dome leading to the top — and you are at an altitude of 7,134 meters! Congratulations!
Having achieved the aim, you’ll go down to the Camp 3 along the same route. For safety reasons, you need to start the descent before 2 pm, even if you did not manage to get to the top.
With a sense of satisfaction and pride, you’ll set off on the way down. You will go to the Solnechny camp using ropes and crampons, and spend the night in permanent tents.
Today you’ll go down to the Edelweiss Glade camp. On the way you’ll take the last look at colorful mountains and sparkling glaciers. You’ll spend the night at the camp.
Today will be a reserve day in case of bad weather on the day of the climb. If everything goes according to the plan, you’ll spend time at the camp relaxing or exploring the surroundings.
In the morning you’ll enjoy the views of snow-white peaks and flowering meadows for the last time and go to Osh by minibus. On the way you’ll overcome two beautiful mountain passes — Taldyk and Chyirchyk.
Upon arrival, you’ll be able to relax and spend time as you like: walk around the city, buy souvenirs for your family or stay at the hotel.
In the morning you’ll have breakfast, then check out of the hotel and head to the airport (the transfer is included in the price).

July and August are the most pleasant months for traveling in the Pamirs. However, in the mountains the weather is changeable, so you need to be prepared for hot, warm, and cold weather with rain and snow.
The checklist #86 will help you prepare for this trip.
The price of the tour includes rental of group equipment: tents, mats, gas burners, main rope (8.9-10 mm), cooking utensils in Camp 2.
Participants in each tent get their own gas burner and cooking utensils.
The route is extreme. It requires appropriate equipment, physical fitness and endurance.
Climbing in the highlands is always associated with certain risks, including difficult weather conditions and individual body reactions to altitude. Therefore, each tourist is fully responsible for their decision to participate in this program and bears full responsibility for all their actions and possible consequences.
Due to the fact that there are many glaciers and cracks on the route, you will go in crampons and ropes. Therefore, basic mountaineering skills are required.
On the hiking part of the tour (10 days) every participant will carry their own belongings. Porter services or horseback transportation of personal belongings are available at an extra cost.
The average weight of a backpack on the “Edelweiss Glade — Solnechny” part of the route is 20–23 kg (including tourist equipment with a sleeping bag, boots, clothes, climbing gear, and food).
Above the Solnechny camp the average weight of a backpack is about 15 kg. Each camp is equipped with a storage room, in high-altitude camps there are special service tents for storing things.
Children are not allowed on this tour. All the participants must be over 18 years old.
Important: to participate in the program, you must have mountaineering experience and experience climbing peaks over 5000 meters!
The team consists of 13 Russian-speaking guides and 8 English-speaking sherpas from Nepal. Each one has experience of climbing Lenin Peak.
This program belongs to the category of extreme sports, so each participant must get an insurance policy of the “mountaineering at altitudes of 6,000-7,000 m” category, which includes transportation of the injured as well as search and rescue operations. We recommend choosing insurance with a compensation scheme. The policy must be issued in the territory of your country before the start of the trip.
General requirements for insurance policies:
Note: Responsibility for the reliability of the insurance company and for the compliance of the insurance policy with the requirements for mountaineering at altitudes of 6,000-7,000 m lies with the owner of the insurance policy.
The extra fee for the transportation depends on the weight of the things and part of the route. One-way prices are the following:
Before departure to the Solnechny camp, the participants should inform the commandant of the approximate weight of their belongings that they want to send on horseback. Weighing and payment takes place on the day of departure in the morning before breakfast. Return transportation is ordered the same way, only from the commandant of the Solnechny camp.
The food includes instant soups and porridges, canned meat, sausages, cheese, cereals, pasta, condensed milk, chocolate, chocolate bars, candies, dried fruits, nuts, tea, coffee, sugar, cookies, bread (including freshly baked flatbreads), fresh fruits and vegetables.
Note: Since this is a group tour, the food is the same for all participants. Unfortunately, we cannot prepare an individual meal for you. If you have an intolerance or allergy to any of the products, please notify the manager in advance. We will pass this information on to the guide or accommodations. However, we kindly ask you to follow up on this matter during the trip. If you have strict dietary restrictions, we recommend bringing suitable food with you or buy it on the spot.
Climbing Lenin Peak is a challenge that requires great willpower and good preparation. This journey is organized in such a way that allows tourists to stay comfortable even in the remote corners of the Pamirs.
For 2 weeks you will live in equipped camps with electricity, showers, toilets and three meals a day. And only 5 nights will be spent in standard tents in high-altitude camps. The tents will be set up by the time of your arrival, so you won’t have to carry them.
The program includes only 10 days of walking with backpacks. If you don’t want to carry a backpack by yourself, you can use the help of porters anytime.
The instructors with an experience of climbing the Lenin Peak will conduct special training to teach you how to move with ropes and overcome glacial cracks, but participation in the tour requires good physical shape and minimal mountaineering experience.
If you dream of seeing the Pamir Mountains, but climbing Lenin Peak is too tough for you yet, we recommend looking at a simpler 8-day route.
