In the afternoon the group will meet at the airport of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, go to the hotel and check-in. Then you will have a delicious welcome lunch at a Japanese restaurant where you will taste fresh seafood.
After lunch the adventure begins! You will go to get acquainted with Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and have a tour around the city, including all the main attractions. In the evening you can have dinner in a restaurant of your choice with Japanese, Chinese, Korean or European cuisine.
After breakfast you will go to the east coast of Sakhalin. The journey will take approximately 3 hours. Along the way, you will stop to admire the Japanese Torii gate, which is typical for Shinto shrines. You’ll listen to the sound of the sea, breathe in the salty air and, if you are lucky enough, you will find a piece of amber. Also, on the way, you will visit the village of Vzmorye, where you can buy freshly caught boiled crabs if you wish.
And here you are in Tikhaya Bay! You will take a walk along the coast. The bay is famous for its crystal clear water, so you can admire beautiful emerald algae and colorful fish shining in the sun. This place is chosen by nimble seals and graceful Japanese cranes. You will wander through the caves and gorges, climb onto the sea terraces to lie on the silky grass and inhale the aroma of delicate edelweiss. You will watch how the waves break on the sheer cliffs carving out unusual figures from the rocks through the years. The silence here is only disturbed by the sounds of waves and the calls of the sea birds. Today there will be an unusual camping lunch: fish soup, caviar, Far Eastern delicacies, and fragrant Sakhalin herbs tea.
In the evening you’ll return to the hotel in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
After breakfast you’ll be transferred to the port of Korsakov and will board the ship. The ship sails to Yuzhno-Kurilsk at 12:00.

The ship is often accompanied by flocks of friendly dolphins, and birds circling in the sky. You will have enough time to enjoy the sea views and relax. Lunch and dinner are available in a cafe on board (not included in the price).
The ship is the most reliable way to get to Kunashir. You can get there by plane, but the flights can be delayed up to 5 days due to the activity of the volcano.

The car will take you closer to the volcano, and then you’ll walk along a beautiful bamboo path. Along the way you will stop for rest, and when you reach the field, you’ll have a 2-hour break. You can have a bite to eat and explore the fumaroles — holes in the solidified lava from which steam and gas escape. Those who wish can swim in the thermal springs.
In the evening you’ll return to the hotel for a delicious dinner.
And there are miracles again! This time you will go to Golovnin volcano. The car will take you to the beginning of the route, and then you’ll have a walk through stunning fields with elfin cedar and Kuril bamboo. The thickets of plants are so dense that it’s impossible to take even a few steps if you get off the path.
You will reach the caldera of the volcano, which is 4 km in diameter! At the bottom of it there are four domes and two seething lakes — Kipyashcheye and Goryacheye. Kipyashcheye is not suitable for swimming, but plunging into the Goryacheye Lake is a pleasure. There are also magnificent panoramic views opening from the hills.
In the evening you’ll return to the hotel for a delicious dinner.
Today you will visit one of the most unusual places on Earth — Cape Stolbchaty. It was formed from the solidified lava of the Mendeleev volcano, which split into five- and six-sided columns.

The trail will take you to the mud springs and to the beautiful coast. Further, you will see the majestic rocks of the White Monks and make your way to Cape Stolbchaty along the fragments of the pillars.
The cape is washed by the Sea of Okhotsk on three sides and surrounded by picturesque lagoons with crystal clear water. You can take a dip and then have delicious fish soup cooked on fire.
After breakfast you will get in a car and go to Veslovsky peninsula, Golovnino settlement. Exploring the surroundings, you will come to a memorial sign set in the place where the first Russian settlement on Kunashir was founded in 1778.
Then you will have an exciting walk on the beach along the Golovninskiy cliff. You can trace the stages of the activity of the Golovnin volcano and climatic events over the past 2 million years on the unique local relief. The cliff was formed by the ashes of ancient volcanic eruptions, as well as marine and peat inclusions of different ages. Then you have lunch on the coast.
In the evening you’ll return to the hotel and have dinner.
Note: The trip to the Golovninskiy cliff is only possible at low tide and can be organized on another day, depending on the tide map. It can also be changed for an alternative route according to the weather.

You will see the geothermal station, mud boilers and geothermal outlets. You will see the incredible hot lakes Blue Eyes, from which the sulfuric acid river Kipyashchaya flows. On the banks of this river, you will relax in a jacuzzi under a hot waterfall. The water temperature here is about 42 degrees. The baths are hidden in a very beautiful place among volcanoes and taiga, and no one will disturb you. In between walking and swimming you will have lunch.

Get ready to find yourself on another planet! The beach of the Kuril Bay is formed of solidified volcanic lava and resembles unusual Martian landscapes. The silhouettes of black rocks in the ocean make them even more mysterious. Surprisingly, you can find green grass and beautiful flowers breaking through the layer of lava.
