Embark on a journey that brings Japan’s versatile culture to life. Our itinerary will take us through the central and southern regions of the country, allowing us to see, experience, and taste the very best that Japan has to offer. We'll immerse ourselves in the diverse landscapes and traditions of the Land of the Rising Sun.

We will delve into the world of ancient traditions: stroll through medieval streets where the graceful silhouettes of geishas still appear, and see sacred temples and ancient castles. We will dive into the bustling life of modern Tokyo. Here, amidst the sparkling skyscrapers, we will discover the world of shocking youth fashion and visit an interactive visual art museum, where a dazzling display of digital illusions will unfold before us.

We will travel mostly by public transportation: high-speed trains, subways, and commuter trains, which are faster and more comfortable than buses, ensuring that we will have enough time to see everything. Accommodations will be in comfortable 3-star business hotels, with a highlight being a night in a traditional guesthouse, or ryokan, offering a unique and authentic experience.

Why should you travel to Japan?

  • To marvel at Tokyo, the metropolis of the future.
  • To compare it with the more measured and traditional Kyoto.
  • To walk through the narrow medieval streets in the geisha district of Gion.
  • To admire the grandeur of the Himeji Castle, preserving 400 years of history.
  • To bathe in the hot spring onsen.
  • Sail by ship on Lake Ashi and see Mount Fuji.
  • To walk through the labyrinth of thousands of red torii gates at the Inari shrine, dedicated to the goddess of abundance.
  • To explore the Amano Iwato shrine, hidden in a mysterious grotto where the sun goddess Amaterasu once took refuge.
  • To admire the Martian-like landscapes near the crater of Aso, one of the most active volcanoes in Japan.
  • To enjoy the tranquility of Suizen-ji Garden, where medieval masters recreated all of Japan in miniature.

We recommend visiting Japan in autumn or spring, when the country is at its most beautiful. In autumn, red maples festively frame the wooden temples of ancient capitals and lay a bright carpet all around. In spring, blooming cherry blossoms envelop all of Japan in a gentle pink cloud, creating an atmosphere of magic and romance.

Suizen-ji Garden with Japan in miniature Kurokawa Onsen resort

We will pack our things and drive to the fascinating Suizen-ji Garden, where medieval masters created a miniature version of Mount Fuji and other natural landmarks of the Land of the Rising Sun.

Afterward, we will reach Kurokawa Onsen in about an hour and a half—arguably the best hot spring resort in the entire country. There are hardly any large buildings or hotels here, which allows Kurokawa to perfectly retain the atmosphere of a remote Japanese village. We will stay in a traditional guesthouse, a ryokan, where we will enjoy a kaiseki dinner, which is a must in such places. We’ll wear traditional yukata robes and stroll through the village, visiting various thermal baths. There are many options: open-air, indoor, separate, unisex, and even a bath inside a real cave! Time to relax and soak!
